ARCHIVE RETREVAL

Attended backup to removable media

Iomega ZIP is the most common and can hold 100mb, but the disks are only magnetic and it is recommended that you collect data onto 6 disk then have this archive (burnt) to a CD-ROM.

CD-ROM is the most flexible way of backing up but can be easily damaged by scratching the top of the disk. Also look at upgrading older style 2xspeed dives that can take half an hour compared with newer drives burning 650mb disk in 8 minutes.

DVD burning is not that common just yet, holding a massive 5-9 gig of data up but can also be easily damaged by scratching the top of the disk.
